I am just wondering how many of you is buying gold? It is usefull, but is it worth it?

if you have 600 gold, and if you'll spend it only for 25% production bunus - it will be enough for... 30 weeks - souns good enough to me

I am, using it for npc trading too, very usefull when u can convert resources 1:1, no need for 15 croppers anymore!

in this moment i'm nor using gold...but I will use...only for plus account and +25% crop

and of course...instant building and NPC trading when needed

i m not using gold...and i never will...but i compensate with activity....i usualy spent my money on alcohol and females...: D

i bought 100 gold but i only use it in finishing a construction (especially while upgrading the main building), and for %25 crop... the other productions are not important now.. cuz there are still enoufh farms for each of us :)

Umm, yet, I am not using gold, but I want it so much-
as one of usalready mentioned, just for 25% bonuses, it will be enough for long time and these are good boonuses.
but more you use it - it's like a nacotic, once you start using + to wheat, you become too easily addicted to it, and then you would rather spend 10 more dollars then upgrade wheatfield. So, be accurate, it may become addicting

I play here ONLY to have fun. But for me, buying gold is like cheating. The beauty of this and many other online games is to start on equal footing, and battle it in an HONEST+ Honourable way. Mind against Mind!! You win, I lose...no matter, we do another, BUT if you win, you know that you won by your intelligence not by "buying" a win.

For example, I play online chess too....now imagine you eat my queen. So, I just buy another 2 Queens?! No...It becomes sensless. You may say that gold in this game costs nothing (very cheap true) but it's not my style. I can buy 9 months worth of gold....but than....deep down in me, I know that I'll not be improving/winning by my ability.

It's like a bodybuilder or wieght lifter who takes anabolic steroids and competes with "natural" ones. I do martial arts in real life.....now imagine a 2nd Dan competeing with a yellow belt or beginer. Or like a car race...me in my Full Race Alfa Romeo and you in a poor Lada!!!!! In real life, these injustices happen, so why bring them in a simply game too?

Anyway, as these are the rules of this game, I'll take it as a challenge though.......

like you Panzer-Armee i think gold sucks ... the + ( plus ) system was way better ... it gave players that wanted to pay an advantage but one that could be done by just being very active ... the gold servers suck because you gain so many benefits from paying it's outrageous ... i've stated my case many times in the public travian forum as well as many others but for the travian game, gold servers have way better incomes ... and last i heard Flying Fortress decided that all servers from now on to be gold servers

Welll, as I said before, these are the rules. But again, I play here only for fun. I am not saying that people do wrong by buying gold....it's thier thing to do...The thing I hate is when a "gold" guy/girl starts preaching strategies/tatics + saying stupid things in forums etc, all because he/she got himself/herself "bloated" with gold.
My opinion of course, so no hard feelings to my golden friends of this alliance.

I couldnt agree more with both of you. Travian gold totally destroys the game... He who gives most money will probably win.. Travian was one of the last games where you didnt have to pay to be competitive. Now the ones that pay have a huge advantage.. Anyway... When i win 1.000.000 $ in pokerstars ill have gold for 10 years

If You have enougth fun for just playing then do not buy gold, but if You want to be competetive, You should buy. Thats the true.

And You cant win simply buying gold, You should put skill and time too, because many players are buying gold and have equal conditions.

I sometimes go to casino....but if I win there (am a good poker player ) it's for real money....so, don't worry, won't buy any gold for me here hehee.....will leave it for you to have fun with (real money for me though!)

if u no how to play, i can advise you some gold. but if u dunno how to play this game and how to spend gold, i say "do not spare ur money and time" cuz gold is not everything and do not think that if u use gold, u can be succesfull.. that would be just fooling urself.. i bought 100 gold in the beginning and still have 95, and i saw so many players spent 5 times as many gold as mine, and did just NOTHING... and still they r searching for gold with no troop and a bad production...ehehe..

So you are saying that you have built a village of 240pop in only 10 days with only 5 gold (from the 100 you bought)+ maybe the 35 free gold ones? Haaa....You told me 'don't fool myself'?? and 'don't know how to play'?? ...you telling me? Think better look at a mirror and tell yourself. If gold is not everything as you say(to me it's not cause am not using it) , than why do you base your game on it? Without gold you would not have advanced so much already. But better end this chat here cause dont want to seem to be starting an argument. You can't play or advance without gold? well than buy gold.....simple.

But for me this argument is closed......dont wish this forum to become an "us and them" one.We're supposed to be like brothers and sisters here. But gold seems number one issue here. Yesterday, a member of our alliance was attacked.He called for help :

...no one replied......so, there are more important things than telling non-gold players not to waste their time playing here.

i did not refer my words to anyone including u panzer..and did not wanna be in a senseless arguement...but now i am referrin all my words to u panzer_armee.. u can do this calculation even with ur fingers, now listen; i had 135 golds including the gold i bought in total.. and now i have 95... what does it mean to u?? if it means nothing, let me explain it.. it means that i used only 40 golds up to now.. and u no everyone had 35 gold in the beginning.. if that 5 more gold made me grow my village and troops faster than u and many others u may be rihgt.... i still say that, if anyone does not no how to play, he should not think about buying gold...

i really do not wanna say anything about this ..cuz u r determined to misunderstand me. u r taking everything personal and u just think that every word is referred to you.. i just wanted to explain what i think about gold in my first reply but u really demoralized me with ur comment on that message...

For me it's already passed. Forums are for persons to "argue" on a topic. But did not want to make you feel so bad..... And on a game!! Alas...If everyone agreed on everything, it gets boring . I don't mind these little "arguments/opinions" of these types. I was chating with someone in this forum, than you told how you feel/see it...and I said mine. We did not agree, so what!...thats democracy. So by saying that if someone who does not buy gold here is wasting time, you did not offend me, but I just replied as I feel ...so, it was only a tit for tat thing.If you read online forums, these things are normal. Panzer Armee i shared your view that it's like cheating using gold but now after hearing sezors side i have come to believe that even with gold you still have to have a strategy and tactics else the gold is useless ... i never considered how much the game has changed by introducing gold but now i understand ... so i guess panzer you and me are the old-school players with the old tactics and strategy without using gold and senzor adapted to the new gold servers and has made his strategy and tactics accordingly .... i do not like gold servers but i do respect players that know how to use the gold to become even more powerful not just use it wildly

i do not demember saying "playing without gold is hust a time waste".. i just said if anyone does not no how to play this game, it is just a time and money waste to buy gold for himself... that s the main misunderstood point i think.

Yes, can be.....but want you to remember that I respect your opinion. It makes sense of course....for example, I have slowed my expansion so that I "save" resources to research T.T.'s. (my free gold end in a day or two) If I buy gold, I would not have to do this cause my resources would have been more upgraded by now + would have much more troops to raid with. Maybe I like to play it on the difficult level (no pan intended)....thats why I choose gauls this time. .....have to go now to the gym....cheerio my friend.

I love gold - I can not play without gold - It's like addiction - somebody save meeeeee......

Imagine if you could steal gold with attacks.... LOL THAT WOULD REALLY UPGRADE TRAVIAN. Then you should really think twice before buying gold. e.g. someone who wouldnt know how to use gold he could lose it by someone that knows how to play...
